Can I get Hero PRO via the NHS?<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

\u2705 Hero <\/span>PRO<\/span> has<\/span>\u00a0been designed to meet the requirements of the <\/span>NHS Multi-Grip Hand Policy<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Your NHS <\/span>enablement<\/span> centre will be able to offer you a trial of a multi-grip hand like Hero <\/span>PRO<\/span> \u00a0if you meet these criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 You have used a single-grip myoelectric prosthesis (or a privately funded Hero ARM) for at least 12 months.<\/span><\/p>\n

What can I expect at my NHS appointment?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\n\n

The multidisciplinary team (MDT) at your NHS centre will assess and decide if you are suitable for a trial based on limb level, health, and functional need.<\/span><\/p>\n

You may be given the opportunity to trial multiple options to see which one works best for you. You should prepare for the appointment by thinking about what you might need from your multi-grip hand for your day to day needs. For example:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 you need to be able to wash your hands after going to the bathroom?<\/span>
\n\u2022 you need to be able to do the washing up?<\/span>
\n\u2022 you need to be able to wash your car?<\/span>
\n\u2022 you need to use your arm outdoors when it might rain?<\/span>
\n\u2022 you ever experienced any shoulder pain or discomfort from compensatory movements while using a prosthesis? <\/span>
\n\u2022 your limb gets hot throughout the day? Do you need a ventilated socket for cooling? <\/span><\/p>\n

If these needs resonate with you, you and your MDT team may find that the IP67 full-arm water resistance, integrated wrist flexion\/extension, and ventilated liner and socket offered by Hero PRO \u00a0make them the only clinically appropriate options for you. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
